The Okanagan is no stranger to delicious food and drink. Recently named in a Vogue magazine wine round-up, the region’s microclimates and fertile soil are a haven for farm-fresh ingredients and exquisite wine. Our perch in the North Okanagan is in close proximity to a bounty of fresh produce, orchards and wineries, inspiring mountain chefs to fuel your adventure and tempt your tastebuds.

“The best kept secret of Silver Star, I would say, is the food,” says Tyler Lafferty, Executive Chef at The Bulldog Silver Star. “We get chefs from all over the world who come up here to express their culinary talents.”

Walk, slide or ride into our many pubs, eateries and restaurants in Silver Star Village, located mid-mountain in the heart of the Monashee Mountains.

Traditional Italian Dining

(Winter Only)

Silver Star’s newest restaurant, D’Argento, is delighting adventurists with upscale Italian fare in a casual atmosphere. With a menu designed by SilverStar Mountain Resort’s previous Executive Head Chef, Scott Sanderson, the restaurant features fresh hand-made pasta, traditional dishes, and a distinctly Mediterranean cocktail menu (think: Aperol Spritz, Limoncello and Negronis). As if that’s not enough to make your mouth water, you can cap off the meal with a decadent tiramisu.

Fusion Cuisine and Artisan Cocktails

The Black Pine Social is reminiscent of a trendy urban cocktail lounge with a ski town twist. Adorned with contemporary artwork and barn door panelling, the rustic-chic space is the perfect place to crush an apres beer after a day on the slopes or savour flavours from around the world in the evening. The eclectic menu will take you around the world, from the Alps to Tokyo, featuring three different types of ramen, tasting plates, handheld, salads and an assortment of delicious main dishes.

Co-owned by the Lougherys, an Okanagan culinary duo, the Black Pine drinks menu is extensive. Sample a range of signature and classic cocktails and a curated list of BC wine and craft beers.

Local Favourite

(Winter Only)

Get a feel for the Silver Star community in the town’s quintessential ski town pub. With a lively atmosphere, music and hearty meals, Long John’s Pub is a long-time local haunt for drinks, dinner and good times. Visit the charming pub to enjoy gourmet burgers, house-made soups, and weekly menu specials. The wooden interior has as much character and charm as a mountain pub could have, with vintage skis on the wall, mountain town bric-à-brac and plenty of history written on the walls.

European Pastries, Fresh Beans and Casual Fare

Enjoy a taste of Europe in a friendly neighbourhood nook, Bugaboos Bakery Cafe. Grab breakfast before hitting the lifts—the pastries are made with real butter and a lot of love and care. House-roasted beans are a taste of heaven for java connoisseurs and lunches are always served with a smile.

A taste of Holland and Southeast Asia

Make yourself at home at The Bulldog Silver Star, a lively gathering place with an eclectic menu and a fascinating origin story. A sister-location to the renegade Amsterdam Coffeeshop, the Bulldog has always had a rebellious spirit and a welcoming atmosphere. Swap mountain stories over an après session on their large patio overlooking the village and sample a menu inspired by Dutch history in Indonesia. On your visit, be sure to check out live music and visit their statue of Joris, the bulldog namesake for the hotel and café.

Mouth-watering Sourdough Pizza

Good things take time—and fermented sourdough from Pizza Gratta is a case study for patient craftsmanship. Their delicious comfort foods are made from simple, non-GMO ingredients. The menu includes meat, vegetarian and plant-based options with both classic and signature ingredient combos.
