
Safety & Awareness Weekend
March 15 - March 16

Join the SilverStar Ski Patrol for a Safety & Awareness Weekend! Learn about avalanches, tree wells, and ways to stay safe while skiing/boarding in resort, off piste, and in the backcountry.
The SilverStar Ski Patrol team will have an info booth set up in the village outside The Red Antler from 9:00am to 2:30pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Stop by and ask to see a demonstration about probing, shoveling and/or RECCO® technology. Patrol will also be doing rope demonstrations and talking about some of the medical gear they use here at SilverStar Mountain Resort.
Saturday, March 15th
- 9:00am – Mammut Uphill Meet up! Meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts at Brewer’s Pond Base and enjoy a morning of traversing our uphill track. Draw prizes from Mammut will be given away at the top of the mountain. Skiers must have a valid ticket or season pass to participate.
- 1:00pm – Tree Well Training and Avalanche Terrain Identification, at the summit near the patrol hut.
- Includes a snow profile and snowpack stability assessment
Sunday, March 16th
- 11:00am – Avalanche Transceiver Competition, at the summit near the patrol hut.
- How quickly can you locate a buried transceiver? This friendly competition is a great opportunity to practice your rescue skills under pressure. Prizing will be awarded to the top 3 participants, with points awarded for speed and style.
- *Limited beacons and probes will be available for use. Please bring your own if possible
