  • How To Get Into the Holiday Spirit at Silver Star

Merry? Check. Bright? Check. When it comes to the holidays, Silver Star may just surpass the North Pole as the most festive place to spend them. Our elves have been organizing seasonal fun for all ages: events, Christmas markets and crafts, sparkling lights, delicious treats, and special surprises. Come spend the most wonderful time of the year at the merriest place in the North Okanagan.

Twinkling Lights in the Village

Lights, fire, action! The annual Light Up celebration is a community tradition that kicks off winter with an illuminating and festive light display. This year’s dazzling event features fireworks, fire dancers, and the Polson Artisan Christmas market, among other activities. Festivities will be all the more special with the addition of the BC Winter Games Torch Lighting ceremony.

Paradise Camp Snow Cat Dinner

Elevate your winter adventure with a one-of-a-kind mountaintop dining experience. Climb aboard the Paradise Express snow cat and make your way to the Putnam Creek area, where the cozy Paradise Camp hut awaits. The Monashee Mountains are a spectacular backdrop to this lantern-lit, three-course dinner with wine pairings.

12 Days of Holidays Prize Giveaways

Get into the Christmas spirit with the 12 Days of Holidays from December 20 to January 1. SilverStar elves will be surprising (and delighting) guests both virtually and in-resort with prizes. Follow SilverStar social media to see where the elves are next.

Festive and Fun Night Skiing

The slopes of SilverStar Mountain Resort glow brighter than Rudolph’s nose, when night skiing and holiday cheer are on the agenda. Make it extra festive by loading up on candy and dressing on-theme (think: elves, Santa, Mrs. Claus, reindeer, and ugly sweaters). Be sure to look out for Santa and the SilverStar elves—you might just get a fun surprise for dressing up.

Nordic Skiing and Fondue Adventure

Make Nordic Skiing a new winter tradition. Pack a bag with extra layers, headlamps, drinks, and a fondue set-up, then hit the cross-country trails in search of a cozy cabin. Silver Star’s interconnected 105-kilometre (64-mile) network of XC trails are dotted by four warming huts, each with its own character and charm. Mountain View and Black Prince cabins can be accessed via the Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre trail system, while Chaptik and Wild Horseman’s cabins are located on SilverStar Mountain Resort trails.

Holiday Craft Nights

Deck the halls of your Silver Star holiday home with a special festive piece created at the SilverStar Christmas Craft Nights (spots are limited), or create your very own Christmas artwork at a Silver Star Paint Party

Give a Silver Star-Inspired Gift

Make your list and check it twice, then share your passion for Silver Star with loved ones by gifting local adventures and artisan goods—you might even find something for yourself too. Swing into local boutiques in town or check out the Polson Artisan Market pop ups throughout the North Okanagan, running on select dates in November and December. We’ll be featuring more gift giving ideas on social media in the lead-up to Christmas. In the meantime, here are a few gift ideas:
